CDM Co-ordination – 55,000 sqft (510 sqm )

We were appointed by Urbanest UK Limited as CDM Co-ordinator for the £13.5 million redevelopment to provide a mixed use building which included retail at basement and ground floor levels and student accommodation on 10 upper floors.

The project was complex, as the site was very compact and close to Tower Bridge and the Tower of London. Further complications to the development included an adjoining block of shops and flats, a public park including children’s play area and underground tube line running under Minories.

Our role as CDM Co-ordinator was to ensure the CDM regulations were followed by notifying the HSE, to ensure the health and safety plan was prepared prior to works commencing, and identified and addressed the construction risks of this particular project.

We carried out monthly inspections to check that the contractor was adhering to the agreed plan, and audited the Health and Safety File at completion.
